Tennessee EMT accused of pulling gun on teen pranksters

We have in recent weeks seen news items about several Tennessee football players accused by law enforcement of wrongdoing. After the University of Tennessee defeated the Chattanooga Mocs, Vols linebacker Jeremy Banks was arrested and later released from the team. Cornerback Bryce Thompson was allowed to return to the Vols after his August arrest on a misdemeanor domestic assault charge.

The most recent arrest doesn't involve the Vols, however. Former Buffalo Bills linebacker Jimmy Robinson Jr. was arrested after he allegedly pulled a gun on a group of teens who had knocked on his suburban Nashville home and then ran off. Robinson, now an EMT (emergency medical technician), faces two counts of aggravated assault.

According to a Fox News report, 43-year-old Robinson was with the NFL's Bills for the 2001 season, though he did not play in a game. He was arrested after the teens knocked on his Mt. Juliet door and then ran off. He reportedly followed the group in his car, and then confronted them with a gun, ordering two teens out of the vehicle they were in.

Robinson has been an EMT with the Nashville Fire Department since December of last year. The department said it has reassigned him to non-safety-related work pending the outcome of an internal investigation into the charges.

One of the teenagers was charged with trespassing on Robinson's property and a 20-year-old with the group was cited for contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

Those who face aggravated assault or related charges can contact an experienced Chattanooga criminal defense attorney who can protect their rights and freedom.
