However, you are not alone as many other people in the state have experienced drug-related arrests. Among the many things to remember at a time like this is that an arrest does not guarantee that you will be convicted. Just how many people are arrested in Tennessee for drug crimes?

According to the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation, in 2015 there were more than 57,000 reported drug crimes across the state. This number include charges related to stimulants, depressants, hallucinogens, narcotics, marijuana and more. Pot actually represented the largest number of arrested and was involved in more than 28,000 of the state's arrests for drugs that year. Hallucinogens like PCP or LSD accounted for 465 arrests while depressants and stimulants accounted for almost 2,300 and over 6,300 arrests, respectively. Examples of depressants include barbiturates and examples of stimulants include methamphetamines.

Heroin, cocaine, crack cocaine and other narcotics together were involved in close to 14,000 arrests in 2015. Crack cocaine was the drug related to nearly 2,900 of those arrests - the largest number of all narcotics arrests. More than 28,000 people were arrested and charged with crimes related to marijuana.
